The hosting
More than a permit and a pickup.
The trail is the reason you come. The bed, the dinner and the person walking at the back are the reason you finish glad.
A real bed
Guesthouses, homestays or camps are booked before you leave the city. The itinerary names the halt, not a vague “overnight”.
A real kitchen
Hot breakfast, a packed lunch and dinner at the halt. Tell us about a diet when you enquire and the cook plans for it.
A guide who stays
A trek leader and a local guide stay with the group from the drive-in until the last tea. The same faces, both ways.
Small batches
Most departures are capped so the ridge does not turn into a queue. You will know the names of the people you walk with.
How a departure works
Four steps, then you only have to walk.
Choose a trail
Filter by season, days and difficulty. Open a trek for the day-by-day plan, the cost and what to pack.
Pick a date
Fixed departures show the price and the seats left. If your dates are different, send an enquiry instead.
Book or ask
Send a booking request in a minute, or raise an enquiry if you want a person to call first.
We host the rest
Stay, meals, permits and the team are arranged. You pack the rucksack and reach the meeting point.

ValleyRides
Stay, food and the trail, under one roof.
ValleyRides hosts treks across Uttarakhand, Himachal and Kashmir. We plan the walk, the night halt and the meals together, so a first trek feels looked after and a familiar trail still feels personal.
You get a written itinerary, a clear price and a desk that answers before the departure, not only after a payment link.
Read the hosting noteFrom the trail
What guests write after they get home.
★★★★★The camp meals were hot, the summit day was paced for the slowest walker, and nobody was left to find the trail alone.
★★★★★Deoria Tal in the morning and Chandrashila the next day was the right amount of walking. The guesthouse bed mattered more than I expected.
★★★★Clear briefings, a cook who handled a Jain meal without fuss, and a pass day that started early enough to miss the afternoon wind.
★★★★★First winter trek. The leader checked shoes and layers the evening before summit, which saved two of us from a cold descent.

Guides
What a guided trek includes
Stay, meals, permits and a leader who stays with the group. The trek page names what is not in the price.
Guides
How altitude changes a Himalayan trek
The height of the camp matters more than the length of the walk. Here is how we pace a trek above 3,000 metres.
Guides
How to pick your first winter trek
Snow is not the hard part. The hard part is matching days, altitude and your current walking habit.
Seasons
When to trek in the Himalaya
Winter, spring and autumn are not the same walk. Match the season to the trail, not to a long weekend.
Food
What actually gets cooked on the trail
Stay, food and treks is not a slogan. The menu is part of the itinerary.
Packing
A packing list that fits one rucksack
If it does not keep you warm, dry, or able to see the trail at night, leave it at home.

Questions
Before you send the form.
How do I book?
Open a trek, choose a departure and send a booking request. We confirm seats by phone or email before you pay. If you would rather talk first, use Send an enquiry on the same form.
When do I pay?
A booking request does not charge your card. After we confirm the seats, we share the payment details and the amount, including any GST.
What is included?
Stay, meals as listed on the trek, the trek leader, a local guide, permits and forest entry, and the transfers written in the itinerary. Travel to the meeting city is not included.
How fit do I need to be?
Each trek page has a fitness line. As a rule, you should be comfortable walking five to seven hours with a light daypack. Start walking a few weeks before a moderate trek.
Can you plan dates that are not on the calendar?
Yes. Send an enquiry with your dates and group size. Custom departures need enough people to run the kitchen and the guide team, and we will say so plainly.
What if the weather closes the trail?
If a road or a pass closes, we reroute, shorten, or move the departure. The cancellation note on each trek explains refunds when we cancel, and when you cancel.
